Headshots Photography

Digital Photography Services

Headshots are your calling card, and serve as your first impression to industry professionals. Quality photos can speak volumes about what makes you unique as an actor by capturing your sparkle, your intensity, your depth, and passion. Your picture is worth a thousand words! So, as you submit yourself for roles, ask yourself these questions:

* Are my current photos the best they can be?
* Are my current headshots suitable for the roles I hope to book?
* Are my photos up to date?

How it works

Call (323) 300-6129 or email headshots@castingfrontier.com to schedule an appointment. A forty minute session is $75.00 for all annual Premium or Premium Plus members. One hour sessions are $125.00 for all annual Premium or Premium Plus members.

Our well trained and personable photographer will guide you through the session step by step. If this is your first time taking headshots, try to relax, be authentic, and have fun. Boost your self-confidence by starting with your favorite look. This is a fun part of being an actor!

On the day of your appointment, please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Decide on your wardrobe and hairstyle in advance. Be rested and hydrated. Basic make-up and powder are available on site, and there is a changing room where you can get ready. And here is a standard industry tip: Don't go out the night before your photo shoot.

You can take as many photographs as you can fit in during the 40 minute session – but remember, quality is better than quantity, so you're better off spending your 40 minutes taking the highest quality headshots you can.

Wardrobe Ideas

Here are some industry standard looks – but feel free to be creative!

Men: T-shirt, two button-down shirts, tie, blazer.
Women: T-shirt, jeans, tank top, business button-down shirt, gown or dress.

Recommendations

  • Sessions are limited to two outfit changes or looks. As time is limited, we suggest one look be casual, and one be formal.
  • Earth tones, subtle colors, or black tend to focus the eye on your face rather than your clothing.
  • Choose colors that work for your skin tone.
  • Bring clothing that matches your eye color, as this will accentuate your eyes.
  • Bring your favorite outfit. Why not? It always works!
  • Have your clothes cleaned, pressed, and lint free.
  • Choose the look that you want people to remember.

What to avoid:

  • No crazy designs, logos or distracting lettering.
  • No white clothing; it does not photograph well in headshots.
  • Stay away from clothes that are too bright, flashy, or do not fit well.
  • Please do not come with your clothes crumpled up in a box or bag.

Hair

Ask yourself: Does my hair need to be professionally cut or styled? Does it appear clean and neat? Are my bangs too long? What look do I want? Do I need hairspray or gel?

Don't get a haircut the night before the shoot--unless that's the look you're sure you'll like.

Come prepared with hair already groomed. A touch-up mirror will be available.

Make-up

You can bring a make-up artist if you like. Powder and basic make-up is available for use.
